Description
Looking for a baking class in Port Macquarie? This alfajores workshop is beginner-friendly and fully hands-on.
We all love cookies, but if you’ve tasted alfajores, you know they’re next level. In this hands-on alfajores baking workshop in Port Macquarie, you’ll learn how to make some of my most popular recipes and bake them at home with confidence.
In this 3-hour interactive masterclass, you’ll learn more than the recipe. We’ll cover dulce de leche, filling and assembling, storage, presentation tips and the little details that make alfajores taste and look professional.
This is a hands-on cooking class with demonstrations, plus individual and group work.
The recipes
Alfajores recipes we’ll cover
We’ll cover key techniques, storage tips and best practices, and you’ll learn how to make:
- Traditional alfajores
- Apple crumble alfajores
- Alfa-brookies (Brownie cookies filled with dulce de leche)
- Alfacookies (chocolate chip cookies filled with dulce de leche)
The class
This class is designed to be fun, relaxed and skills-focused. You’ll learn baking techniques throughout the session, but it’s not expected that every guest personally makes every recipe from start to finish.
The experience balances demonstrations and guided hands-on work in pairs or small groups. With only 10 people per class, you’ll get plenty of support and time to practice.
We’ll make dough from scratch, bake the biscuits, and learn the art of filling and assembling alfajores using dulce de leche, one of the most loved spreads in Latin America. You’ll also learn practical tips you can use straight away at home.
At the end, you’ll leave with new skills, a smile, and a box of homemade alfajores to enjoy with your family (if you decide to share).
Ages: 16+
Knowledge required: none. Beginners welcome.
Student Testimonials
“The class on Friday was fantastic. The amount of people matched the size of the space, so it was perfect. I loved that you showed us how to make everything without special equipment, making it accessible to a home cook with minimal baking experience. It was very good value for money! I think you’ve done an amazing job with the classes and can’t wait to book in for a savoury one.”
